7. Consider part time or freelance jobs
This is an option which you need to consider, deduce and veto for or against. If things are real uphill, and lady luck don’t seem to be breaking for you consider this option. It might not suffice the full time position that you had held. But a part time position of job has its advantages too. Firstly it brings in some money. This lets you stretch you comfort zone to a couple of more months may be. It also keep the family fire burning. It provides for some basic expenses that you are not able to curtail. It also takes the pressure off a little from your daily life. It again gives you some flexi hours to pursue your job search while other hours are used for generating the so-needed income for you and family. It also allows you to mix with people from unknown circles and who knows.. it might provide you with a break ???
8. Gather knowledge and information
Is nothing moving on the job front? No leads? Markets are bad ? Are you out of your wits finding a regular decent paying job ? This is the right time to pick up a little more knowledge. Job related, career related, vocation related…anything that brightens up your chance. Anything that suffices as an added qualification. Either you can enroll for a few days course or workshop; or you can learn it yourself from the net. Do not waste the odd hours chatting with friends or watching TV, instead use it to empower yourself with additional knowledge and skill. Create more value for yourself and more weightage for your resume. Use your time wisely, because who knows if you will have such a golden opportunity to add to your value to yourself in the near future?
9. Maintain healthy habits
What more can be said about this topics. This should anyways be a general rule for humans but in times of test, people seem to slither. Their bleakness sometimes makes us forget the basics of leading a healthy life, which is to maintain healthy habits. Take control of yourself, bring self discipline. Maintain proper hours for sleep, slumber food and work. Maintain proper food calories, do not over-eat, do not under-eat. Both of these are signs of depression. Maintain proper intake of liquids, perform light exercise regularly, do not over smoke or drink. This imposition of control reflects on your appearance and your psychology. This has an impact on the way you see the world as well as on how the world sees you. So if you feel that you had been lenient in the past on these lines, this is the time to pick up your shoes and get going.
10. Take up an alternate activity
How about begining to take Piano lessons? Or paint a few canvases? Doesn’t attract you ? Fine, then learn bungee jumping? Basic accounting? How about learning a bit of technology? A little of web programming? Some new ideas about brand marketing, or etiquettes for official email writing .Or starting a blog? Expressing yourself, your ideas and your feelings? The world is ready to listen, so why not? There are quite a few options you can choose from, and many of these comes free from different sources on the net. Start following your friends on facebook, twitter. Start learning a new language. Start learning house decoration, and so and so and so on. The list is endless. Think on what your skills lie or you have knack on, and pick it up. It broadens your horizon and brings more happiness to life. I promise you will never regret it.

Great tips! Thanks for putting them out there. Especially #7…so many people could, but don’t take part time jobs. Hey, it can also get your foot in the door! I took a part time job once and it later led to full time and was the most rewarding job I ever had.
#10….absolutely great things for everyone. With all the free social networking sites you mentioned, there is no excuse for people not to take advantage of them. It is important to maintain a positive image on these sites.
all these things…very helpful to so many people!
